This project is a poster series advertising a fictional poetry book. Each poem was visualized with an abstract watercolor painting that is open for the viewer's own interpretation. As the poems seem depressive and dramatic at first, I choose to illustrate in greyscale and great contrast to set the tone of voice in the viewer's head already before they start reading the poems. However, as you'll discover yourself, the poems are not at all depressing and dramatic, rather funny and ironic. With this project, I wanted to show how the consuming and frustrating incidents you might face in your daily life, actually are insignificant and funny ones it is over. Don't take life too seriously! Or as Natalie Portman says: "If you can't laugh at yourself, life is going to seem a whole lot longer than you'd like."
